Where to find us:

Most of the Helena sessions of Professional Development Center courses take place in the Montana Training Center located in the Lee Metcalf Building (1520 East 6th Avenue). To get here from I15 take exit 192B onto Prospect Avenue. Turn left on Montana Avenue and go four blocks to 6th Avenue. Turn left on 6th and go three blocks east to Sanders Street.  The Montana Training Center is in the lower level of the Metcalf Building, and is most easily accessed from the parking lot behind (north of) the building, off of Sanders Street.

In the training center we have two comfortable classrooms:

  • The Glacier Room (capacity 20-35, depending on seating arrangements).  The room is on the lower level. Enter from the parking lot on the north side of (behind) the building, off of Sanders Street.  The entrance is at the northwestern corner of the building. When you go inside, follow the hall to the end, turn left, and follow that hall to its end. The Glacier Room is on the right.
  • The Yellowstone Room (capacity 15-30, depending on seating arrangements). Enter the same as for the Glacier Room - when you go inside, follow the hall to the end, turn left, and the Yellowstone Room is about halfway down the next hall, on your right.

Besides their use for PDC training, the Montana Training Center rooms are available for your use at a nominal cost. The rooms include coffee service and A\V equipment, provided you let us know what you need. You can send us a written reservation (pdc01@mt.gov ) or you may phone us at 444-3871 to get more information.

The Professional Development Center offices are in the Mitchell Building, 125 N. Roberts, Room 125.  Feel free to pay us a visit if you have any questions or concerns. The map below shows the location of the PDC and the Montana Training Center in the capitol complex.
